After nearly 6 years of supporting Fair Trade work around the world, Cross Culture Market will close its doors in late April. The shop is one program of Hope Full Life Center Inc., which also runs Helping Harvest, a food assistance program, Gracefully Chic Boutique and Peace of Home, our thrift stores, and the Linda Civill Community Garden all out of Faith Plaza in Ravena, NY.

Hope Full Life Center’s Board of Directors has been monitoring Cross Culture Market’s progress for two years and didn’t feel the program was growing at a satisfactory pace or advancing the charity’s overall mission despite countless hours of hard work on the part of staff and volunteers. Ever wondered what it takes to run a thrift store? Our staff and a volunteer, Sierra Flach, produced this fun video that shows what happens to all the donations we receive at Gracefully Chic Boutique and Peace of Home. You'll learn what we do to master the chaos that surrounds us every day!

Where would we be without the support of the local business community? We're so grateful to our friends at TCI of NY for their recent generosity. The company, which recycles, disposes of and repairs transformers and other oil-filled electrical equipment, made a donation of $1,000 to Hope Full Life Center so we can purchase fresh fruits and veggies for our food assistance program, Helping Harvest. 

Finding low-cost sources of fresh produce is difficult for our little charity, yet we believe providing it for low-income families in our community is part of our mission. If Helping Harvest can't offer fruit and veggies it often means the people we serve go without and don't get the critical nutrition they need.
