Center distributes 75 boxes full of free groceries

Business supporters key to holiday Blessing Box Project

Hope Full Life Center was excited to give away 75 boxes full of free groceries to struggling families in the community the week before Christmas. This was the sixth year Hope Full Life Center Inc., a Ravena-based charity located in Faith Plaza, assisted local families during the holidays through its Blessing Box Project. High grocery prices continue to burden struggling families and the boxes were received with joy and thanks by all who received one.

Using donations from individuals and the business community, the Center bought the food, household paper products and cleaning supplies for the boxes. Volunteers from Stars Intergen, a local not-for-profit that conducts intergenerational programming and community service projects through the Ravena Coeymans Selkirk School District, helped us packed the large boxes. The Center then distributed them through Helping Harvest, our food assistance program for low-income families. The boxes were full of kitchen staples such as pasta and sauce, peanut butter, cereal and other foods items. Dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, all-purchase cleaner and additional necessities were also included in the boxes.

The business community stepped right up to support the 2023 Blessing Box Project. The Center thanks AllPhase Masonry and Chimney; B.W. Property Care; TCI of NY, LLC; New Scotland Paving & Excavating, the employees of Nolan Propane; Charles Hite & Daughter, Professional Land Surveyors and HEARt Ear Boutique for their very generous contributions.

The Center also sends a special thank you to the Ravena branch of the Bank of Greene County. The bank featured our charity in its lobby in November and December and collected donations. Many individual donations from the bank’s customers and the congregation of Abounding Love Christian Fellowship helped us cover all the expenses associated with this project.

On behalf of Hope Full Life Center and Helping Harvest, thanks to everyone who participated.
