RCS students take part in Global Youth Service Day at Center

Students from the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Middle School poured their time and energy into Hope Full Life Center on Wednesday, April 25. The student volunteers sorted food and donations at Helping Harvest, Gracefully Chic Boutique and Peace of Home. Two volunteers also helped create a report for Hope Full Life Center’s Director, Rebecca Flach.

The service day was coordinated by STARS Intergen, a local not-for-profit that seeks to build intergenerational connections between young people and seniors in the community. The students were also taking part in Global Youth Service Day, which recognizes young peoples’ contributions to communities through acts of service.

“Hope Full Life Center was thrilled to be a part of Global Youth Service Day. We love to see young adults recognized for their community service. We hope their enthusiasm for volunteering will continue into adulthood because charities all over the world will be dependent on their time, talents and passion to continue the work we do,” said Executive Director Rebecca Flach.

The Center counts on volunteers to assist at Helping Harvest, Gracefully Chic Boutique and Peace of Home. These programs are very labor intensive and we lack the resources to pay people to do everything needed to open our doors each week. Please consider volunteering with us or another local charity. Serving others makes you feel great and benefits the community you live in!
