Help feed the hungry in RCS through a Blessing Bag this holiday season. This is the third year Hope Full Life Center Inc., a Ravena based charity located in Faith Plaza, will feed local families during the holidays through the Blessing Bag project. Providing extra help for struggling families has never been more pressing.
With $30 donations from the community and some of our own resources, the Center’s volunteers buy food, pack bags and distribute them throughout the community to families in need using area food pantries and Helping Harvest, a food assistance program run by the Center. The bags are full of kitchen staples such as pasta and sauce, tuna fish, peanut butter, cereal and other foods that offer a variety of flavors and nutrition.
Ninety-five struggling families received Blessing Bags from Hope Full Life Center during the 2019 Christmas season. We anticipate the need will be even greater in 2020 due to COVID and the fallout of unemployment, school closures and other hardships.
The $30 donations from the public are used to fill the bags with additional food, especially critical in 2020 as Hope Full Life Center’s excess food supply is limited.
The Ravena branch of the Bank of Greene County is partnering with us on this project. Anyone can stop at the bank to make a donation. Donations can also be made on our website here or mailed to us at 49 S Clement Ave, Ravena, NY 12143.
