2022 Blessing Bag Project underway

Updated: Nov 17, 2022

Help us care for struggling RCS families through a Blessing Bag this holiday season

As the cost of food, fuel, rent and other basic necessities skyrocket, our vulnerable neighbors need us more than ever!

Help us spread joy to families in Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk this holiday season with a Blessing Bag. This is the fifth year Hope Full Life Center Inc., a Ravena-based charity located in Faith Plaza, will help local struggling families during the holidays through the Blessing Bag Project.

While the Blessing Bags have been filled with food in the past, the Center has decided this year’s bags will be filled with food plus household paper products and cleaning supplies.

“Paper products and cleaning supplies have also gone up in price, but these items are not eligible for purchase using SNAP benefits. This means struggling families pay out of pocket for these necessities with money they may not have,” explained Rebecca Flach, executive director of Hope Full Life Center. “We know how quickly toilet paper, dish soap and other essentials fly off the shelves at Helping Harvest and thought this might be a valuable gift for families in need.”

With $30 donations from the community and some of our own resources, the Center’s volunteers will buy the supplies, pack the bags and distribute them for free throughout the community to families in need using area food pantries and Helping Harvest, a food assistance program run by the Center.

We're thrilled to announce that TCI of NY, LLC and Mattress by Appointment Ravena are also underwriting the project. Thank you to TCI and Mattress by Appointment!

Eighty-seven families received Blessing Bags the week before Christmas from Hope Full Life Center in 2021.

Secure donations can be made on our website (click on donate button to right), or mailed to us at 49 S Clement Ave, Ravena, NY 12143. Or stop into Helping Harvest in Faith Plaza during business hours to drop off your donation.

Alternatively, donations of toilet paper, dish soap, laundry detergent, tissues, hand soap and all-purpose cleaner is greatly appreciated. These can be dropped off at Helping Harvest.

We are excited to share kindness with our neighbors this Christmas. Thank you for supporting our effort.
