Center distributes 87 Blessing Boxes full of free groceries

Business supporters key to project success

Hope Full Life Center was excited to give away 87 boxes full of free groceries to struggling families in the community the week before Christmas. This was the fourth year Hope Full Life Center Inc., a Ravena-based charity located in Faith Plaza, fed local families during the holidays through its Blessing Box project. As inflation drives food prices to historic levels, vulnerable families need extra support more than ever.

With $30 donations from individuals and the business community, the Center’s volunteers bought food, packed large boxes and distributed them through Helping Harvest, the food assistance program run by the Center. The boxes were full of kitchen staples such as pasta and sauce, tuna fish, peanut butter, cereal and other foods that offer a variety of flavors and nutrition. Dish soap, toilet paper and paper towels were included in the boxes this year too.

St. Patrick’s food pantry also received and distributed some Blessing Boxes.

The business community stepped right up to support the Blessing Box Project and the Center thanks Anatriello Agency Inc.; Charles Hite & Daughter, Professional Land Surveyors; Grace Chapel; Halsted Outdoor Supply; HEARt Ear Boutique; National Bank of Coxsackie; Persico Oil Co, Inc.; Persico True Value Hardware and TCI of NY, LLC for their very generous contributions.

The Center also sends special thanks to the Ravena branch of the Bank of Greene County that partnered with us on this project by collecting donations. We also send a shout out to Abounding Love Christian Fellowship's youth group, LAUNCH, who helped us pack the boxes.

As the world reels from the health, social and economic effects of COVID, we were thrilled to share kindness with our neighbors this Christmas. Thanks for supporting our effort.
