Helping Harvest—a community food assistance program of Hope Full Life Center, Inc.—is hiring a part-time Operations Manager to help keep our mission moving forward. Based in Ravena, NY, this role is ideal for someone who is organized, community-minded, and passionate about ensuring families have access to affordable, nutritious food.

Helping Harvest provides low-income families with access to affordable groceries in a welcoming, dignified shopping environment. Our work is powered by a small team of dedicated staff, committed volunteers, and strong community partnerships.
Position Overview
The Operations Manager plays a key role in the day-to-day success of Helping Harvest. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position oversees store operations, inventory and purchasing, staffing coordination, and administrative support to ensure our program runs smoothly and efficiently.
Schedule: Part-time (15 hours per week)
Compensation: $20.00/hour
Location: Ravena, NY
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Purchasing
The Operations Manager tracks inventory, places vendor orders, coordinates deliveries, and researches pricing to help keep groceries affordable while minimizing waste. This role also manages food donations and maintains relationships with vendors and wholesale partners.
Membership & Customer Service
This position supports member enrollment and record keeping while helping create a welcoming, respectful shopping experience for all members.
Store Operations & Staffing
Responsibilities include recruiting and training new volunteers, supervising daily operations, overseeing cash handling and sales reports, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment.
Building & Equipment Maintenance
The Operations Manager coordinates basic facility and equipment maintenance and helps ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and food handling regulations.
Administrative & Program Support
The role also includes maintaining operational records, assisting with grant data collection, supporting budgeting and planning efforts, and helping with outreach or special events as needed.
Qualifications
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of experience in retail, grocery, or nonprofit operations management preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Commitment to reducing food insecurity and serving the community
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and work in a fast-paced environment
