Blessing Bags Project feeds local hungry

Donate $20 and we'll deliver a bag packed with food to a family in need

Struggling families and human service agencies will receive an unexpected blessing this holiday season from Hope Full Life Center in the form of

Blessing Bags. These bags will be full of kitchen staples such as pasta and sauce, tuna fish, peanut butter, beans and other foods that offer a variety of flavors and nutrition.

This is the second year the Center will orchestrate the Blessing Bags project. In 2018 more than 50 families and agencies, including Street Soldiers, Albany Teen Challenge, Senior Projects of Ravena and Albany homeless shelters, received bags.

Hope Full Life Center's food assistance program, Helping Harvest, is fortunate to have overstocks of food. The charity doesn't want the food to sit in its warehouse; it wants to get it to people who don't have enough to eat. That’s when the idea for the Blessings Bags was formed.

“The Blessing Bags help the Center get food into the hands of people in our community who need it most,” said Center director Rebecca Flach.

You can help the Center distribute Blessing Bags in 2019 with a $20 donation per bag. Donations are used to fill the bags with more food and cover delivery costs. This year we're excited to partner with the Ravena branch of the Bank of Greene County on this project. You can stop there to make your $20 donation.

You can also make secure donations right on our website, HopeFullLifeCenter.org, via Paypal using any major credit or debit card or your Paypal account. Be sure to leave us a note in the note field that the donation is for a Blessing Bag. You can also mail a check or stop into any of our programs to make a donation.

Hope Full Life Center is a charity recognized by the IRS and donations are tax deductible.
