Remembering Esther and Paul

We've been mourning the loss of two fantastic volunteers at Helping Harvest. Esther and Paul passed away within a month of one another this winter and left us all reeling. We want to pay tribute to them now and tell you about how wonderful each of them was.

Esther George volunteered at Helping Harvest for the past two years. Members may remember her as a quiet presence at the door, reminding people to check in. She knew how much all the products cost and pointed out where to find items. She helped pack grocery bags. She was patient with people and you could count on her to be there.

Following his retirement in 2020, Paul Anderson offered to help drive our commercial truck and stuck around to unload it. He did everything with joy and had a kind word for everyone. No job was too messy and he did whatever was asked of him with a smile.

Esther and Paul had servant's hearts and were the epitome of the scripture we lean on most at Helping Harvest:

"Truly I tell you, whatever you do for the least of my brothers and sisters you did unto me." Matthew 25:40.

Thank you, Esther and Paul, for your devotion to our ministry and the people we serve. You are so missed.

“Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.” Isaiah 58:10
